Just Cute Bears #2 - Congratulations!!

Time for another challenge from Just Cute Bears!! This week's challenge is 'Congratulations'.

This can be of course interpreted in many ways so the choice is yours :0) I chose to make a baby card with this cute Penny Black balloon bear.

I have coloured the image with prisma pencils for a change! I like the softer colours for this image and I have covered the balloon with stickles. The papers are from the Pink Parfait Forever Friends paper pad.

The cute embossed pram postage stamp detail is a cuttlebug die & embossing folder and I cut the little ribbon slide and oval mat in the cuttlebug too using Nellie dies.
I loved visiting everyone's blogs to see all the wonderful girly creations last week :0) There are so many different bears I now need!!! I do hope you will all take part again x

Remember any creation is allowed, card, atc, altered project etc. as long as it features a bear :) and there is another wonderful Cuddly Buddly stamp on offer for one lucky winner this week.

Visit the blog HERE for more details and to see all the DT cards and stamp prize x

Pink!!

Something a little different from me today :) I had a little spending spree last weekend for my birthday and this is one of the stamps I bought from the lovely Jacqui at Simply Create, one of my favourite craft shops!!

Jacqui is currently running a 'pink challenge' until the 1st February. You can find all the details HERE. There is fabulous candy to be won and all the cards are going to be donated to CLAN for fundraising.

I have used my new Hero Arts Engraved Flower stamp and the butterfly is from a SU set. The pink papers are from a Forever Friends paper pad.

I followed this week's wonderful sketch from PaperTakeWeekly for the layout :0)

I can see me using this stamp a lot!! Hope you like it x

'He was a Skaterboy!'

A friend asked me to make a card for her young nephew who likes skateboarding so this cute 'Hey Dude' skaterboy from Squiggle Stamps was perfect!

I have used SU cardstock and the patterned paper is from a DCWV Glitter Stack. The layout is Nicole's sketch from Truly Scrumptious. I turned it to suit the image and have used buttons instead of flowers!! The optional extra is 'stitching', real or faux, so I have embossed the stitches down the side using the cuttlebug.

Check out the Squiggle Stamps website and blog for news and to see the 'soon to be released' Lilliput stamps, they are fabulous!

How much snow!!!

Hi everyone! Crafting has come to a standstill once again I'm afraid :( Still so much snow around (although the thaw has begun I think?) and that = digging, shovelling etc and the school is still closed and again tomorrow!! so doing lots of activities with DS to keep ourselves amused :)
Kath over at AllthatGlitter's wants to see how much snow everyone has :) so I measured the snow in the garden yesterday, the ruler is 18" so you can see how deep it is!!!! and it's much deeper where it has drifted against the walls etc.
The 2nd photo is what our walk to the local shop looks like! A very narrow tunnel along the path and can you see all the icicles on everyone's houses! (click the photo for a better view)
The third photo is my friend's lovely view from her kitchen window :0) The snow is upto the bottom of the windowsill and can you see all the snow perched on the birdtable!! I managed to capture the sun just setting on the forest in the background, it looked as if it was on fire IRL :)
I am hoping normal crafting posts will resume soon, hope you like the photos x

Birthday Boy!

A card for my 'not so little now' son Jacob who is celebrating his 8th birthday today! Hurrah!!
He's had a lovely day made even better for him! by having an extended Christmas holiday as the school did'nt re-open today because of all the snow :) It was his birthday wish not to go to school on his special day!!
I have used the sketch from the Allsorts challenge #33 of New or Old for the layout. Love the sketch and it's perfect for a boy card, he loved all the gold stars :) All the stash is old but new! The stamp had never been inked!!! but Jacob put in a request for a fishing card so it was perfect. Image coloured with promarkers and the papers are Bo Bunny I think?
I'll leave you with a photo of the Birthday Boy with his chocolate cake Mummy was busy making this morning :0)

I have used SU cardstock for the folder and the paper is 3 bugs in a rug, I decorated the folder to match the whisky bottle!!
I have used this cute Tilda image and accessories and coloured using the following promarkers -

Hair, Shoes, Basket - Caramel, Cocoa and Burnt Sienna
Skin - Ivory & Blush
Outfit - Lavender, Lilac and Amethyst and Mint Green & Grey Green
Bottles - Pear Green and Olive

I am entering this into the Passion for Promarkers 'Mega Christmas challenge' to make 'anything but a card' with a Christmas or New Year theme! Entries need to be in by the 5th of January so I've just made it!!

Happy New Year!!!!

Happy New Year everyone! Wishing you all a fabulous, happy and healthy 2010 with lots of crafting too!! I have'nt done any crafting over this holiday! we still have tons of snow with more arriving everyday it seems! and we have spent a lot of time digging ourselves and the car out numerous times! We have been enjoying the snow too though, we have had 2 days ski-ing at the Lecht which is only 40 mins away from our village and a very pretty drive it is too! I have uploaded a few of my favourite photos to share with you all :)

Today we took part in the traditional New Years Day Boy's Walk in the village, lots of people turn out along with the Dufftown Pipe Band to march around the village and wish everyone a Happy New Year!! The boys lead the way! you can see my son Jacob in the first row with the camoflauge jacket on all ready to start the walk ;0)

I am definitely going to do some crafting this weekend!! I got a few bits and pieces in the sales :0) so I will be back with some cards next week xx

Happy New Year to you all,
