Sugar Bowl #2 - Three!

Here is my card for Challenge #2 over at the SugarBowl. The challenge this time is 'Three', three different papers and 3 embellishments :0)

I have been having a major sort-out in my craft space, still ongoing!! and found lots of papers I've had for years and these particular ones (the blue & yellow ones) reminded me of a ribbed jumper so I decided to use the cute Sugar Nellie monkey from the Little Cotton Rabbit range.

The fabric corners I've used are sooo old too, a freebie from a mag a long time ago!!!!

The topic up for discussion on the Sugar Nellie blog is CAS, clean and simple cards, and I must say I love this style of card too. As much as I love following layered sketches and adding lots of embellies I think the CAS style is just as effective and it lets your stamped image shine through :) With this in mind I kept to a simple layout for this card and because it is a boyish card it is suited to it I think!

3 in 1 baby card!!

Bit tight for time this week! so I have managed to combine 3 of my favourite challenges into the 1 card today! and I must say I like the result :0)

The layout is this weeks sketch from Sketch Saturday, the challenge over at Penny Black Saturday is 'dotty' and at A Spoonfull Of Sugar to make a card for a baby, mum-to-be or toddler. So I had to use one of my favourite PB stamps 'Baby hedgie in a Hammock'.

Image coloured using my prisma's and the flowers, butterfly and teddy are 3-d. Not sure who the 'dotty' paper is by as I was given this as a RAK as well as the cute little buttons and brads from Eva, thanks again Eva ;0)

Hope you like my 3 in 1 card!!

Edited to add - Forgot to say I have been given a 'Your blog is Fabulous' award from fellow Docrafter Dei, thanks Dei!
I have added it to my sidebar :0)
I will pass this award onto Tammi, Eva and Monica :0) All blogs I visit often and love!!

PBS - Pink and Brown!

This week's challenge over at Penny Black Saturday is to use pink and brown in your design :0) Not a problem for me as I love this colour combo!

I have made a card folder instead of a card, and I intend to make some little Penny Black notelets to go inside when I get the chance :)

Papers from a Costco pack, SU cardstock, flowers cut with my x-cut retro punch and little gems added.

I was kindly sent the instructions to make this folder from Monica, a SU demonstrator. Thanks Monica x

Apologies for the photos, the colours are richer IRL, the light I used seems to have washed them out a bit! it's really quite dark here today!

Spoonfull of Sugar - Paper Piecing

Here is my card for challenge #34 from A Spoonfull of Sugar. This week's theme is 'paper piecing'.

I was inspired by Trina's card in the DT gallery using this same stamp set :) I have had this Hanna stamp set for ages now and only used it a few times!! So out it came :0)

The paper is from a DCWV paper stack and the plain cardstock is embossed with the cuttlebug swiss dots folder.

I have made a tall card for a change, I like this layout and have used it quite a lot for this style of card!

Hope you like it, thanks for looking x

Everything on the card (except for the image and gems) is from a past Scrapagogo kit - Jan.2008 actually! There is a challenge over at the Clubhouse to use up all your scraps from your past kits so I shall use this card for the challenge :)

The Sugar Bowl - Challenge #1

I think a lot of you know already!!! but if you have'nt heard! there is now a fantastic challenge blog for lovers of the Sugar Nellie stamp range :0)

Aptly named The Sugar Bowl, there will be challenges and projects to take part in every 2 weeks.

The 1st challenge is a wonderful sketch by Tiets and here is my take on it :)

I have used one of the new Leanne Ellis range, I love this stamp! I was inspired by some artwork I saw on Leanne's blog, so I stamped the image in brown ink on Kraft card and coloured using my prisma's just in brown and pink! I wanted to go for a vintage aged look. To finish I added some little gems and a felt and paper flower embellishment.

All the papers are from a Costco pack and the friendship sentiment is from a Cosmo Cricket kit.

Thanks for looking x

DDC#8 - Pimp Some Packaging!!

This is the project I mentioned in my previous post :0) The challenge over at DoubleDutch is to 'pimp some packaging', there are some fabulous examples from the DT over on the blog.

I have 'pimped' up this little box full of charms, it looks a lot nicer on my desk now!!!
I have used a Penny Black image coloured with my prisma's and added some pretty gems and some felt flowers and ribbon. I have covered the back with some co-ordinating patterned paper too.
Thanks for looking x

PBS Challenge #30..

Here is my card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge #30. This week you have to use embossing on your project. I went for dry embossing and used a cuttlebug folder I have'nt used for ages!!!

As the card was for a 10 year old I kept the layout simple and made the colours bright and cheerful :0)

The image is coloured with prisma's, paper from the DCWV retro pad and co'ordinations cardstock.

A Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge #33

Here is my card for this week's challenge from A Spoonfull of Sugar, it's a sketch by the talented Nikki. I love sketches :0) and this one is fab!

I also challenged myself to make the card in 20mins for a challenge over on the Docrafts forum, just managed it :) although I got all the elements I needed before I started as sometimes it takes me 20 mins to decide which paper to use!!!

Image coloured with prisma's and the butterfly and flowers were freebies from this months 'Creativity' mag from Docrafts.

Daisy - Friday Sketchers #33

Another challenge ticked off my list :0) Here is my card using the latest sketch from Friday Sketchers.

I have used Daisy again! this image was also coloured before Christmas! with these papers in mind :) I have jumped from Winter to Summer!

The sentiment is a rub-on from one of my past GoGo kits. I like how this card turned out :) I will use this sketch again, I keep a file of favourite sketches so I always have some inspiration!

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year to all my blog visitors :0)

Here is my 1st card of 2009! I have jotted down all my favourite challenges to get on with this week, DS back at school tomorrow!!!

This card is for Dawny's sketch #5 at PapertakeWeekly, there will be a new challenge tomorrow! so I did this one first :0)

I have had Daisy from Sugar Nellie coloured since before Christmas so it's good to finally make a card with her, image coloured with prisma's but not blended, thought I'd try it this way for a change.

I have added little gemstones to her hair and the flower she's holding.

Thanks for looking and I'll be back soon with some more challenge cards!!
